Panoramic View from Kylesku Lodges

      Welcome to Kylesku Lodges

Kylesku Lodges is a family run business consisting of 10 Scandinavian design A-frame lodges set in 30 acres of private estate in the Scottish Highlands. The lodges are situated on an elevated site at the head of a sea loch on the beautiful Kylesku Peninsula. Quinag, a well known mountain in the Assynt range, provides a spectacular backdrop and each lodge is sited to make the most of both mountain and sea views.

The lodges are purpose built to offer quality self catering accommodation for up to four persons and each lodge offers panoramic views over loch and mountain. The lodges are in a secluded setting and yet Kylesku Village with boat trips, restaurant and post office is within comfortable walking distance. Kylesku Lodges are also ideally situated for exploring the Northwest Highland Tourist Route. Sunset from Balcony

The lodges are heated throughout. The lounge opens up through large patio doors to a  balcony with spectacular views over mountain and sea loch. This is an ideal setting to unwind and enjoy a relaxing drink while watching the sun set over the loch. Don't forget your binoculars as Golden Eagle, Buzzard and Red Deer can be viewed from your lodge.

During your holiday you will find lots of things to do in the area. Should you want to just relax and unwind then this is the place to do so, or you may wish to discover some of the interesting local attractions. Beautiful, lonely, unspoilt beaches are within easy reach and there are numerous walks in the area. TheKerrachar Gardensse can be taken as a leisurely stroll, or you can attempt one of the more adventurous mountain walks. Well behaved dogs are welcome, in designated lodges, by prior arrangement.

From Kylesku you can take a boat trip to Kerrachar Gardens (left) or up Scotlands Highest Waterfall Loch Glencoul to see the highest waterfall in Britain, with its drop of 658feet (right). You will also be able to look at the seal colony during the trip. Trout fishing permits can be obtained locally. Above all else, the area is famous for its beautiful scenery and the many people who return year after year testify to this.

Kylesku Lodges are situated within walking distance of Kylesku village and the spectacular Kylesku Bridge. The fGreat Stack Handa Islandishing village of Lochinver is a scenic half hour drive. The lodges are also situated at the centre of Scotland's first Global Geopark, a 2000 square km area, which encompasses some of the finest mountain and coastal landscapes in Britain and a wealth of classic geological localities. Two miles south of the lodges is a viewpoint overlooking Loch Glencoul, a sea loch or fjord carved by glaciers during the Ice Age. On the mountains opposite a slab of Lewisian Gneiss has been thrust over cliffs of orange-brown quartzite to form the Glencoul thrust.

We are blessed with a wealth of wildlife in our area. Red deer and common seal are numerous. Otter and badger are often seen and the lucky few have spotted the elusive pine martin and wildcat. For birdwatchers there is the nearby renowned Handa Island (left), with its spectacular seabird colonies. We also have local specialities such as Merlin, Golden Eagle, Golden Plover and on the high mountains Ptarmigan and Snow Bunting. Visit our "Wildlife Page" for more information.
